Cold & Blue is a deeply personal investigation into the unexplained 1986 death of my mother, Kathleen “Kathy” Walter, in Erie, Pennsylvania. There was no autopsy, the circumstances surrounding her death have never fully made sense, and decades later, there are still questions that deserve answers.

Through records, family history, interviews, old photographs, court documents, and the things I’ve uncovered along the way, I’m going back through the story piece by piece — not just to understand how my mother died, but to understand who she was, what happened to our family afterward, and why so much of her story was left unresolved.

This isn’t just a case to me. It’s my family. It’s my mother. And I’m still looking for answers.
